Kid Shows Patients That Cancer Does Not Mean “Game Over”

Nine-year-old Ben is a gamer. During his early treatments for leukemia, Ben’s physician advised the fourth grader to visualize his body healing. Ben and his mother adapted the idea into the boy’s gaming terms and imagined his medicine as a Pac-Man video game eating cancer cells. This imagery, coupled with the fact that he played computer games throughout the course of his treatment, inspired his wish from volunteers with the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation.
